Prepare a workstation for Survey
Check these requirements before starting a 15-day trial.
Recommended
64 GB RAM and at least 200 GB free SSD space. Larger surveys may need more disk and memory.
Graphics
An NVIDIA GPU is optional. MapFocal detects supported GPU hardware and adjusts processing parameters accordingly.
Connection and license
Internet access is required for initial activation and periodic floating-seat renewal. One license allows one active PC at a time. A previously valid signed lease can bridge a temporary license-service outage for up to one hour.
Before installation
Confirm virtualization is enabled for WSL2 and reserve an NTFS SSD with room for source imagery, working files, outputs, and a safety backup. The stated 100 GB free space is a minimum, not a size guarantee for every survey.
Before a large dataset
Count images, inspect GPS coverage, close heavy background programs, and review the preflight result. For difficult surveys, compare Auto, Single, and Manual groups processing modes.

Release the floating seat on the old PC where possible, then activate on the new PC. The portal shows the active seat separately from website sessions.
